Hey, Y’all am Monish from India, Co-founder of the KalakendraDAO, A Non-Profit & Non-Governmental DAO working on a Mission to Onboard Web2 Peeps into Web3 Space to Adopt Blockchain and its relevant technologies to further grow and sustain decentralization in the wider community.
Accordance to the Previous proposal by @Chitty, I would like to put a proposal to Derive Celo India DAO as a Part of the Local Ecosystem Planning working group of Season 11 Planning.
The Adoption of cryptocurrencies is set to rise progressively in India, as the country is seeing a surge in growth and positive sentiments toward the industry. With a population of 1.3 billion, 288 million Indians now own cryptocurrency, placing the country first (according to the Finder’s Report) and fourth (according to Chainalysis) in terms of global Adoption.
Due to the increase in interest of people of India in adopting cryptos yet, it comes to bitcoin, Ethereum, and polygon. Where there is no awareness of other blockchains like celo, this paves the way to have celo India Regional DAO to create a strong regional existence of celo.
Goal
To spread awareness about the Celo protocol and increase its Adoption, grow the Celo community with initiatives in India, and help nurture the next cohort of significant initiatives on Web3.
Celo has one of the most global communities in crypto. To further expand decentralization and the localization of the protocol in different regions and cultures, we would love to empower local communities to lead regional growth. We believe that folks on the ground are the most equipped to do this and that a grassroots approach will benefit the development of Celo and its community.

This would involve hosting meetups, airdrops, workshops, etc., on a regular basis. The meetups would be a great platform to network & collaborate with other crypto enthusiasts.

The regional hubs would be connected to each other and the global Celo Community. This would help create a network effect and exponentially increase Celo’s reach in India.

Celo India DAO Operations
To Further Decentralize and Follow Grassroot Approach, 9 Members from the Different States of the Country will be chosen to take participate in the Celo India DAO Operations; All the Governance is taken Through the Celo Governance Forum.
After some point, Each of the 9 Selected members will create their sub-Daos of Celo India DAO to Decentralize the work further and create more impact in the country.
Such as Celo India-Kerala, Celo India-Delhi, etc. This becomes the DAO of DAOs Model Approach.
