During our Q1 Testing Phase, we deployed an MVP focused on real-world crypto payments in physical stores. We onboarded 44 active wallets from blockchain community members, operating across 10+ merchants from various sectors—from food service to retail—all integrated on the CELO network.
The average transaction value was USD 130, validating not only the use of tokens for everyday spending, but also their potential to move real value through the commercial circuit.
This testing allowed us to identify key barriers in user and merchant onboarding—from UX challenges to education, loyalty, and post-payment engagement.
We used those insights to refine our API and prepare the infrastructure for scalable growth.
We also recorded a 68% conversion rate, meaning nearly 7 out of 10 users who joined the testing phase completed at least one real transaction using cCOP.
This shows true adoption beyond just signups—users actively engaged with the payment system.
In addition, we saw a 35% repeat usage rate, meaning over a third of users returned to make a second cCOP payment within the same testing period.
This is a key signal of behavioral continuity, retention, and long-term engagement.
