Summary:

After Iterating several times, we thank @luukDAO for his patience and guidance. This proposal requests $2,000 USD to support the activation of the Celo community in Mexico through strategic social media engagement and side-event coverage around Ethereum Mexico. The initiative will focus on raising awareness of Celo’s mission, offerings, and showcasing the arrival of CEL2 while engaging with the local blockchain community, and providing a presence at key side events that we have previously discussed with @Celatam. The project will conclude with a brief report summarizing the activation efforts and outcomes, while showcasing the team’s potential.

Motivation:

The Mexican blockchain scene is growing rapidly, and Ethereum Mexico presents a unique opportunity to increase Celo’s visibility in the region. This proposal aims to build on existing momentum and ensure that Celo comes forefront of conversations among developers and enthusiasts in Mexico.

Metrics and KPIs:

  • Social Media Engagement: Increase in followers, likes, and interactions on Celo Mexico’s social media channels.
  • Remote Side-Event Presence: General engagement during Ethereum Mexico side-events, including attendance count and dynamic participation metrics, and co-hosting at least two events.
  • Final Report: A concise report summarizing the activation efforts.

Specification:

The proposal includes the following general activities:

  1. Social Media Activation: Engage with the community through targeted social media posts and interactions, leveraging the momentum of Ethereum Mexico.
  2. Side Event Coverage: Ensure Celo’s presence at Ethereum Mexico through side-events participation, networking, and remote engagement.
  3. Final Report: Provide a summary of activities and outcomes in a brief report.

Current Status:

The Celo Mexico Regional DAO has initiated community-building efforts and is poised to leverage Ethereum Mexico for further growth.

Timeline and Milestones:

  • September 1-20, 2024: Social media activation and event co-hosting.
  • Post-Event: Submission of the final report.

Payment Terms:

One installment payment (100%): $2,000 USD to cover the entire activation period.

Hi @celomexico , we’ve just submitted this proposal for a vote in the Celo PG snapshot space. If the proposal receives at least 4 votes from the current CeloPG Stewards, with the majority in favor, it will pass.
