Hello community!

This October, we’re bringing together 500 ecologists, local Maya land stewards, and tech builders for a 5-day immersive camp in Yaxcabá, Yucatán. The event is structured around 22 co-created thematic camps covering permaculture, territorial defense, AI, self-education, and Web3/ReFi.

We are requesting 15,000 cUSD from Celo Public Goods to fund our dedicated ReFi Camp, bring 20 local leaders to the gathering on full scholarships, and fund real-world, verifiable ecological restoration on site.

What We Will Build & Deliver

  • Dedicated ReFi & Web3 Camp 5 days of hands-on workshops, panel discussions, and hack sessions focused on practical ReFi tools and local economy models.

  • We’ll cover full passes, meals, and transport for 20 local Maya community leaders, youth activists, and regional land stewards to participate directly in co-creation circles.

  • We’re restoring and sanitizing a local cenote site and implementing site-wide zero-carbon waste protocols (ISO 20121 standards).

  • We’ll document our cenote restoration work and community metrics using Hypercerts / impact certificates on Celo.

Budget Breakdown (15,000 cUSD)

  • $6,000 cUSD — ReFi Track Production: Stage setup, solar power rigs, A/V gear, and logistics for the Web3 camp space.

  • $4,500 cUSD — Maya Leader Scholarships: Travel, food, and full event access passes for 20 local community leaders.

  • $3,000 cUSD — Cenote Restoration & Eco-Tech: Water testing, filtration gear, and physical restoration supplies for the local cenote.

  • $1,500 cUSD — Open-Source Documentation: Video recap, post-event impact report, and publishing on-chain impact metrics.

How We Measure Success

  • 500 attendees engaged across 22 active thematic camps.

  • 20 local Maya leaders fully integrated into the event.

  • 1 restored cenote with verified impact data published on-chain.

  • 100+ new user wallets set up for local participants to receive community stipends in cUSD.
