Hello Celo devs
Context
In the past weeks, many of you kindly provided feedback on what we could do to make your experience building on Celo better. We really appreciate your time and feedback, and wanted to share a brief update on things we’ve recently done to make building on Celo easier!
New Celo Safe (safe.celo.org)
-
Completely new UI (including dark mode)
-
WalletConnect support
-
Contract interaction feature
If you’d like to share any feedback feel free to post it in this forum post.
Easier access to large amount of testnet tokens with Google form
If you need a large amount of testnet tokens to test your application, you can fill out a Google form or contact DevRel directly.
Here is the Google form: Faucet: Request large amounts of testnet tokens
The amazing DevRel team manages large testnet disbursements from a Celo Safe and can now send you tokens in just a few clicks.
If you’d like to share any feedback feel free to post it in this Github discussion.
More testnet tokens in self-service faucet
You now get 5 CELO, 5 cUSD, 5 cEUR and 5 cREAL per faucet request on the Celo website: Fund Your Testnet Account

Ethers.js works out of the box on Celo
Code that uses Ethers.js and works on Ethereum now works 1-to-1 on Celo without requiring any changes.
@jsawa recently tested this with an Ethersjs script he had trouble running in the past and reported that everything worked seamlessly
If you’d like to share any feedback feel free to post it in this Github discussion.
Rainbowkit works out of the box on Celo
You can now build webapps on Celo using the popular Rainbowkit library.
@aaronmgdr and @Jean kindly provided Celo specific settings which you can use to interact with popular Celo wallets: https://rainbowkit-with-celo.vercel.app/
What next?
Improving your experience of building on Celo continues to be our top priority!
Among other things, we are focusing on providing native support for Celo in Foundry, a very popular smart contract development tool.
If you have any thoughts or feedback, we’d love to hear from you. Please share them below or ping me on Discord.
As always all thoughts and considerations are welcome
