Hi @MilaRioja! Such a nice initiative!
It’s heartwarming to look back to impactMarket’s achievements and learnings through this past year and see how much we’ve accomplished. We are super grateful for your continuous support and energy! It’s also so inspiring to see all the progress and amazing things happening on the other projects in Latin America! :star_struck:

Having a global presence and impact, Latam is a key region for impactMarket - where we created the first UBI community, and always a fertile soil to launch new services, implement pilots, etc. We are thrilled to share some of our achievements for the Recap:

impactMarket Accomplishments

Paragraph (around 300 words) describing the accomplishment/activity

We’ve been providing Unconditional Basic Income (UBI) to almost 15,000 beneficiaries from vulnerable communities across 7 Latin American countries. Behind these numbers, we are talking about refugees, indigenous people, and families living in favelas and in rural communities… people having their lives improved thanks to an additional income to help support their basic needs.

Our mission goes beyond financial support – it’s about empowerment. We’ve revamped our positioning from Poverty Alleviation to Human Empowerment Protocol, aligning an extended range of solutions with the mission of unlocking human potential.

Since 2022, impactMarket developed several new products and mechanisms:

  • $PACT Staking
  • impactMarket’s dApp
  • The Libera Crypto Wallet, which facilitated even more access to UBI, staking the $PACT token, swapping crypto assets, and expanding economic participation.
  • Learn & Earn platform to drive financial education.
  • Microcredit, with its first pilot implemented in Brazil and currently expanding to other countries to empower small entrepreneurs and boost local economies.
  • A new donation mechanism, Deposit & Donate, implemented to bring an extra option for our donors to make an impact.

Talent Protocol

Take Off Rio :brazil:

Description of the experience

Take Off (previously known as Talent House) is an initiative organized by Talent Protocol that supports high-potential talent in attending their first Web3 conference. This helps them grow their network, learn new things, and improve their chances of success in business and in life.

Celo played an important role in Take Off’s history by sponsoring the first editions, and was also an active part of it’s 7th edition in Rio de Janeiro, between March 27th and April 3rd.

During the two days of Ethereum Brasil, our scholars attended panels and workshops in both English and Portuguese, putting not only their Web3 knowledge but also their language skills to the test.

After that, it was time to hack! For three days, ETHSamba offered extremely useful bootcamp workshops for everyone new to the space, engaging talks, and panel discussions on both technical and non-technical topics. Of course, there was also the chance to build awesome projects and compete for bounties as part of the hackathon.

All of our scholars worked on important and impactful ideas, but we want to give a special shoutout to Sandra Carrillo and Brian Sander, whose projects won the hearts of a few ETHSamba sponsors.

Talent Protocol’s co-founder, Filipe Macedo, was also part of CELO’s judging team, listening to the teams that applied for CELO’s hackathon prize.

Hi Luis, yes! New week we will have a call with the teams. Let me work with them on that

Hey all! Nice to see many familiar faces here. My name is Sebastián, Sr. Associate at Flori Ventures, a seed-stage fund investing in the future financial system and solutions for the climate crisis, we are a close partner to the Celo Ecosystem. I wanted to share the most recent event we did together:

Paragraph*
Taking advantage that Flori’s partners were on a trip across Brazil and Argentina to update with our portfolio companies and meet potential Dealflow, we organized an event on March 14th with Mila and the Cabogo Creators team in Sao Paulo to get to know teams that are building great solutions in the Celo ecosystem.

It was very pleasing for us to see how the adoption of new payment systems like Pix in the country, combined with a more promising regulatory framework, is generating significant opportunities for the most advanced ecosystems in the regions where we invest (Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa). We look forward to returning to Brazil very soon and are delighted to be a part of the ecosystem!
