The Celo Stake Off Is Over: Chefs, It’s Time to Take Off Your Aprons!

Attention all Chefs, Bakers, and Validators! Congratulations! You’ve made it to the end of The Great Celo Stake Off!

Over 100 teams helped the Celo protocol along this critical path towards mainnet readiness. We have learnt a lot. We’ve had a lot of fun, and I hope you have too. We’ve been amazed by the sheer time and energy the Stake Off community has dedicated over the past 2.5 months. A sincere thank you to all participants from the team working on Celo – we couldn’t have done it without you!

We hope you feel you have gained operational experience. We are sure that together the community has built a more secure network, and has helped troubleshoot issues, build amazing tools, and polish Celo’s on-chain governance process. A big shout out to all of you who have contributed a range of technical and educational content, or answered questions on Discord and the Forum, or reported issues you’ve encountered. You’ve benefited the entire Celo community.

What’s next?

We’ve put the leaderboard on ice. We will be applying the final boosts and penalties later today. As mentioned at the start of Phase 3, with so many impressive stakers putting on a great show, we’ve decided to expand the prize pool. Look out for an email confirming the final winners and further Community Grant Awards later today!

In the meantime, as we transition to the next stage, baklava still needs validators. Rewards are enabled, but will no longer count towards the leaderboard. Please help keep the network running smoothly.
