We’re excited to announce that Sikadesk is live on MiniPay, bringing our OTC and retail stablecoin infrastructure to businesses and everyday users in Ghana.
This launch represents another important step in our continued commitment to building practical, accessible and scalable stablecoin infrastructure that contributes to the growth of the Celo ecosystem.
Over the past 11 months, Sikadesk has processed more than $75M in transaction volume with $68M on the Celo network, signifying 91% of Sikadesk’s volume is on Celo.
This traction reinforces what we believe is a critical opportunity for Celo: making stablecoins useful beyond holding and trading, whereas integrating them into everyday financial activity.
Our focus has always been on building infrastructure that connects stablecoins to the payment rails people already use, particularly mobile money and bank accounts across African markets.
Bringing This Utility to MiniPay
With the launch of Sikadesk on MiniPay, users can now access both OTC and retail functionality directly through the MiniApps ecosystem.
For businesses:
- Users can Buy and sell large volumes of stablecoins
- Access counter liquidity through Bank and Mobile Money accounts
- Support larger-scale stablecoin transactions through a dedicated business experience
For everyday users:
- Buy and sell stablecoins
- Send instant payments to Mobile Money accounts
- Move from stablecoin balances to real world payments without leaving the MiniPay experience
The goal is simple: make stablecoins easier to access, easier to use and more connected to everyday commerce.
Our Continued Commitment to Celo
Having gained support from ecosystem players such as Opera, Upright, Prezenti & more, we see Celo as more than just a blockchain infrastructure layer. What we see is an ecosystem with the potential to make stablecoins genuinely useful for people and businesses across emerging markets.
Sikadesk’s continued growth is therefore closely aligned with our commitment to the Celo ecosystem; building products that drive real transaction activity, stablecoin utility and user adoption.
What’s Next
This is a beta launch and we’re intentionally starting in Ghana so we can learn from users, improve the product, strengthen our infrastructure and build toward broader market expansion.
We’ll be actively listening to feedback from the Celo and MiniPay communities as we continue to build.
We’re grateful to everyone who has supported Sikadesk so far and we look forward to continuing to contribute to the growth of the Celo ecosystem through stablecoin adoption.
Try Sikadesk on MiniPay and let us know what you think.
