Introduction

SEEDGov is well-positioned to promote Celo’s mission of creating an inclusive, accessible, and sustainable financial system. Our expertise in decentralized governance, along with our commitment to the long-term success of the protocol, provides valuable support to Celo as it continues to grow and strengthen its community-driven model.

As a delegate, SEEDGov adopts a practical and results-oriented approach. We focus on refining governance frameworks, fostering ecosystem growth, and ensuring that Celo’s commitments—financial inclusion, sustainability, and decentralization—are deeply integrated into its governance processes.

What is SEEDGov?

SEEDGov is a dynamic and evolving vertical within the SEED Org* Ecosystem, focused on shaping the future of decentralized governance in Web3 through active participation, community engagement and experimentation. Our approach emphasizes minimizing governance where appropriate and professionalizing it where necessary.

As an active delegate platform, SEEDGov engages in governance across multiple projects. With roots in community values, we’ve evolved from education-based initiatives to a participatory approach that drives collaboration, coordination, and decision-making in the ever-changing Web3 landscape.

Our work embrace various protocols, from AMMs to Layer 2, where we design and implement governance infrastructures, manage grants and allocation programs, oversee incentives and onboard the right builders to meet each protocol needs. SEED’s diverse and multidisciplinary team brings the right flexibility and adaptability to strengthen the resilience of Celo.

Celo <> SEEDGov

SEEDGov shares the vision of creating equitable, decentralized financial systems that empower communities worldwide. Celo’s innovative approach, focusing on mobile-first tools and treating financial infrastructure as a public good, inspires SEEDGov to contribute its governance expertise to strengthen this ecosystem.

Also, as early delegates in Optimism’s governance since day one, SEEDGov has a deep understanding of the OP Stack and the evolving Superchain vision. This hands-on experience in shaping governance processes positions us to offer valuable insights and contribute to Celo.

Focus Area:

  • Strengthen Governance Processes: SEEDGov brings a pragmatic approach to governance. We aim to streamline participation processes while maintaining a high bar for expertise and accountability. Our efforts focus on reducing inefficiencies and ensuring that every governance decision serves Celo’s long-term vision.
  • Community-Driven Growth: A strong community is the backbone of any decentralized ecosystem. SEEDGov will actively engage with Celo ecosystem, promoting collaboration, and fostering initiatives that contribute to sustainable growth.
  • Security First: Ensure every governance decision prioritizes protocol security, user safeguard, and long-term resilience over short-term gains.
  • Innovation & Research: Support improvements to the Celo Stack and pursue research initiatives to advance decentralized finance. We are deeply invested in pushing the boundaries of what is possible while staying true to Celo’s mission.

Conflict of Interest

SEEDGov operates globally with multiple team members actively involved in governance systems such as Arbitrum, Optimism, Uniswap and Gnosis, among others. It is worth clarifying that our team members are specifically aligned with the protocol in which they contribute.

Should any conflict of interest arise, it will be transparently communicated in this thread.

Amazing! Indeed, you guys have the expertise to boost Celo’s governance. I would love to understand more about the approach to Celo specifically, already love the work you guys do on Arbitrum and Optimism.

On a side note: Do you know the SEED Collective? The artists. They’re digital artists hosting residencies in LatAm with a substantial background in organizing large NFT events. I know Ricardo Pet is with them; I’ll try to send this thread to him. He organized some of the largest ReFi events in Brazil…Celo - ReFi - Seed Artists - SeedGov, maybe there is something to be explored here here.
