0xj4an Delegate Thread

:waving_hand: Introduction

Hello Celorians :yellow_heart:, I’m 0xj4an (This is my Work Account) :computer:

I’ve been involved with the Celo ecosystem for more than three years now, and during this time, I’ve had the opportunity to contribute to several key initiatives that reflect my passion for decentralized technology and financial inclusion.

My journey in Web3 began as a community builder and governance contributor, where I took on various roles that allowed me to deepen my understanding of blockchain’s potential to create prosperity for all. Throughout my involvement, I’ve remained committed to ensuring Celo’s mission to build a decentralized, fair, and sustainable economy is realized.

I have also served as part of the Celo Governance Guardians (previously known as CGP Editors) for almost one and a half years, helping ensure transparency and efficiency in the governance process. Additionally, I’ve been responsible for translating all Celo Documentation into Spanish, moderating the Celo Discord for nearly two years, and now actively participating in the newly established Celo Communities Guild. I’ve organized Celo Meetups across Medellin & Colombia to foster local adoption of the Celo ecosystem.

:rocket: Motivation

My primary motivation is to see Celo grow into a global leader in creating real-world financial solutions that drive positive social impact. Celo’s mission to bring prosperity to all resonates with my values, and I am committed to empowering underrepresented communities and onboarding new participants into the blockchain space.

I believe in leveraging decentralized finance (DeFi) and Regenerative Finance (ReFi) to create sustainable economic models that empower individuals and promote financial inclusion. This belief is what fuels my contributions to the Celo ecosystem, and I’m excited to continue supporting its growth.

:bullseye: Goals and Vision

My vision is to see Celo become a key player in building a regenerative digital economy that bridges the gap between emerging markets and decentralized technologies. Some of my specific goals include:

  • Expanding Real-World Asset (RWA) lending solutions to underserved regions, creating scalable financial models that address local challenges.
  • Strengthening the presence of Celo in Latin America through initiatives like ReFiMedellin, ETHMedellin, and ETHColombia, fostering impactful partnerships with local and global organizations.
  • Ensuring community reinvestment by making sure that value generated within the Celo ecosystem is redirected to support community-driven projects that promote long-term growth and sustainability.
  • Building meaningful partnerships that leverage decentralized technology to foster financial inclusion and social impact.

:books: Experience and Expertise

I have experience in governance, ecosystem development, treasury management, and project management within the Web3 space. My role as part of the Celo Governance Guardians and as a CGP Editor has enabled me to contribute to the strategic decisions that shape the Celo ecosystem.

I have also been a key player in submitting governance proposals that have strengthened Celo, including:

Additionally, I co-founded GDG on Celo and continue to lead ReFiMedellin, contributing actively as an advisor to both ReFi Colombia and more sporadically to ReFiLatam, and sometimes also contributing to ReFiDAO.

I am committed to promoting widespread engagement in the ReFi ecosystem and supporting the expansion of platforms like ImpactMarket, which facilitate financial inclusion through blockchain-based donations.
