Is Celo Community Serious About Expansion in Afghanistan?

Hello to the respected Celo Community team,

I am Shahabuddin Qatee from Afghanistan. Several days ago, I submitted a voluntary request to represent Celo in Afghanistan. In my email, I clearly provided my full profile, resume, cover letter, and proposals for expanding the Celo ecosystem in Farsi-speaking regions, especially Afghanistan.

However, after several days, I have not received any response. Honestly, I am confused—does this community truly aim to expand the Celo project, or is it just a space for entertainment? If this project is truly open and community-driven, why is there no attention given to active contributors from underrepresented regions like Afghanistan?

I am fully ready and motivated to work on growing the Celo presence in my country, but the silence and lack of engagement from your side is discouraging.

Thank you for your attention,
Shahabuddin Qatee

Hello @Shahabuddinqatee! Thank you for your thoughtful proposals and engaging with the Celo Community.

All regional expansion is currently community driven through the Regional DAO Council, a collective of grassroots organizations working on establishing local nodes around the world. You can read more about it here. In this post you can learn more about the membership and the guidelines for starting a new hub.

At the moment the members of the council are preparing to present a Season 1 proposal. Once the proposal is live you can also share your feedback in the comments about new areas of expansion.
