Isha here from the Strategy, Research, and Innovation team at the Celo Foundation. This week it’s my pleasure to share the status update on the DeFi for the People program

For context, DeFi for the People supports project launches through the following ways:

  1. Grant/liquidity incentives
  2. Security audit by the Celo Foundation
  3. Usability review and testing
  4. Co-marketing (Medium announcement, Twitter spaces, etc.)

Updates From this Week

This week we had a few major announcements:

  1. O3 Swap v2 launched on the Celo blockchain on Aug 4, enabling interoperable liquidity. Learn more here. We’ll be hosting a Twitter spaces in the upcoming weeks.
  2. Gamma launched on the Celo blockchain on August 4 as part of ReFi Summe bringing capital efficiency via concentrated liquidity AMM. Learn more here. We’ll be hosting a Twitter spaces in the upcoming weeks.
  3. Voting has started for our gauge proposal with Angle Protocol on Curve Finance to add Euro Pool (cEUR/agEUR/EUROC). Learn more here

    • Discussing partnership opportunities and Celo Foundation support
    • Discussed collaboration for Q4 lending pilot

  • Socialstack

    • Discussing partnership opportunities around their upcoming social campaigns

Here’s also an update on other major items:

  1. Aave community member is working on our risk methodology
  2. Discussing cross chain DeFi tooling with the Abacus and Goldfinch team
  3. Twitter Spaces with EthicHub scheduled for August 10 to discuss their recent launch on Celo
