This thread provides a progress update on Celo Arabia DAO during (21st March – 30th June) 2025. In this period, we made meaningful strides in local community growth, developer activation, and education-focused content, with a sharp focus on increasing Celo adoption across the MENA region. Through a mix of grassroots initiatives, online education, and ecosystem partnerships, Celo Arabia has established itself as a key regional player in driving blockchain awareness and utility.
Focus Area : Developer Growth & Hackathon Success
One of our core goals was to build a sustainable developer ecosystem in MENA. In H1, we hosted onboarding sessions, published technical content, and offered localized education. This culminated in our standout performance in the Global Stable Hackathon, where Celo Arabia DAO ranked 2nd globally in the number of referred applications—demonstrating our ability to onboard and activate technical talent.
Focus Area: Education Infrastructure — Celo Arabia Academy
To empower a new generation of builders, developers, and creators, we launched the Celo Arabia Academy, an Arabic educational hub designed to teach blockchain fundamentals and hands-on skills for building on Celo.
Key Highlights:
- Academy Website Launched: A fully localized educational platform offering curated content in Arabic, with tracks for beginners, developers, and creatives.
The academy lays the foundation for sustainable talent growth across the MENA region and will serve as a gateway for future contributors to the Celo ecosystem.
Focus Area 3: NFT Certificate Minting — Learning Meets Web3
As part of our commitment to real-world utility and verifiable education credentials, we developed a custom NFT minting component for the Celo Arabia Academy.

Certificate-as-NFT: Learners who complete courses on the Celo Arabia Academy can mint NFT certificates on Celo L2. These certificates serve as verifiable, on-chain proof of skill and participation.

As part of our goal to localize and amplify the Celo brand, we launched the official Celo Arabia Website, a central hub for community updates, ecosystem news, events, and educational resources in Arabic.

The first half of 2025 marked a foundational chapter for Celo Arabia, where vision turned into execution and KPIs translated into real, measurable outcomes. From launching the Celo Arabia Academy and localized website, to building community through events and webinars, we’ve ignited a vibrant and growing MENA presence for the Celo ecosystem.
With strong technical, educational, and community infrastructure now in place, Celo Arabia is well-positioned to scale its impact across the region in the second half of 2025. Our next phase will focus on deeper developer onboarding, ecosystem partnerships and events.
