The Evolution of Gaming in Web3
One of the most significant changes brought about by web3 gaming is the introduction of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and the ability to create unique in-game assets that can be bought, sold, and traded on blockchain marketplaces. This has opened up a new world of possibilities for gamers, allowing them to own and control their in-game assets in a way that was not possible before. Web3 gaming is also changing the way games are monetized, with many games adopting new business models that allow players to earn cryptocurrency and other rewards for their in-game actions. On 15th March we held a comprehensive discussion with Bristin from Wildchain to deep dive on the evolution of gaming in Web3 and look at how it is evolving and becoming more mainstream. Web3 Commerce
Web 3 commerce, also known as decentralized commerce refers to the use of blockchain technology and decentralized protocols to facilitate transactions between buyers and sellers without the need for intermediaries such as banks, payment processors, or marketplaces. Transactions are conducted using cryptocurrencies or tokens that are built on blockchain technology. These transactions are recorded on a decentralized ledger that is transparent, secure, and immutable. We held an informative discussion with Charles Nichols from Nuzo where we had an informative conversation covering the intricacies of Web3 commerce and the efforts being made by Nuzo to disrupt the Ecosystem having built on Celo. Celo Africa DAO Knowledge Session
Celo has one of the most global communities in crypto. In order to further expand decentralization and the localization of the protocol in different regions and cultures, we launched the Celo Africa DAO which seeks to win the hearts and minds of Web3 builders across Africa and spread the adoption of Celo protocol locally. In this session with Khadeejah Amusat we looked at the overall overview of the Celo Africa DAO, the focus areas of the DAO, how we intend to spread the adoption of Celo locally, and the reporting structure. The Evolution of Blockchain Stack
Blockchain technology has come a long way since its inception in 2008. Over the years, the technology has evolved to become more sophisticated and efficient, with the introduction of new features and functionalities that improve its overall performance. One of the areas in which blockchain technology has seen significant advancements is the development of the blockchain stack, which refers to the various layers of technology that make up a blockchain platform. One of the latest trends has been the rise of the zero-knowledge execution environment; Essentially these are platforms that use zero-knowledge proofs to enable secure, private, and efficient execution of smart contracts. They combine the benefits of traditional EVMs with the added security and privacy of zero-knowledge proofs. Blockchain platforms can use this to execute complex smart contracts without revealing sensitive information.
