Still stucked in staking on Ledger Live since 2023.
CELO holders did not need to exchange their tokens for a new “L2 CELO” when Celo transitioned from L1 to L2. Existing balances and locked positions remained in the network state, so this sounds more like an access or unstaking issue than a token migration.
First, check the Ledger address on a Celo block explorer to confirm whether the CELO is still shown as locked or staked. Also make sure Ledger Live, the Ledger firmware, and the Celo app on the device are fully updated—the Celo app needed an update to sign transactions after the L2 transition.
One other consideration is the derivation path. Older Ledger Live Celo accounts can use the Celo-specific path rather than the standard Ethereum path, so connecting through the wrong path may display a different address.
Could you share whether the original address still shows the locked CELO on the explorer, and what happens when you try to unlock or withdraw it? Never share your recovery phrase or private key, and be cautious of private messages offering a migration or recovery service.
Can you try accessing it using https://mondo.celo.org
Thanks. That’s the address: Celo Mainnet address details for 0x814A8c9D1e12E760699912f54E08f1097f023604 | Blockscout
It’s a legacy address. Ledger Live throws an error while trying to unstake.
All systems are up to date.
Thanks. I checked the address, and the on-chain history shows that the voting portion of the unstaking process already succeeded.
This Revoke Active transaction completed successfully:
The remaining process should be:
- Unlock the now non-voting Locked CELO.
- Wait for the 72-hour unlocking period.
- Withdraw the unlocked CELO to the available balance.
Since the current interface is producing an error, try accessing the position through Celo Mondo:
Before proceeding, confirm that it displays this exact address:
0x814A8c9D1e12E760699912f54E08f1097f023604
Legacy Celo Ledger accounts can use a different derivation path from standard Ethereum accounts. If Mondo displays another address, do not proceed.
Look for the Locked CELO position and an Unlock action rather than attempting to revoke or unstake again. If it also fails, please share the exact error message shown when signing, but never share your recovery phrase, private key, or Ledger recovery information.
Which wallet interface shall I use to connect Mondo with Ledger?
Thanks for clarifying. I don’t have enough experience with Mondo’s Ledger connection flow—particularly for legacy Celo derivation paths—to recommend a wallet interface safely.
Since this involves signing transactions from a hardware wallet, it would be best for a Celo or Mondo team member familiar with legacy Ledger accounts to confirm the supported process. Please do not enter your recovery phrase anywhere or proceed if the connected address does not exactly match:
0x814A8c9D1e12E760699912f54E08f1097f023604
I think most Celo-compatible wallets will work perfectly fine to connect with Mondo. For example, if you can connect Metamask or Rabby with your Ledger, it should work. You can also try the Celo Terminal wallet which is also Ledger support to connect to Mondo. Link below:
