My cofounder and I were moving some funds around and accidentally sent about $12,000 worth of stCELO to the wrong address. Instead of sending it to her wallet address, I accidentally sent it to the stCELO token contract.
Is there any way we can rectify this? Not sure what process you guys have around this, but I appreciate the help in advance.
Sorry this happened. Blockchain transactions are irreversible, so neither the sending wallet nor network validators can cancel or reverse the transfer.
Since the stCELO was sent to the stCELO token contract itself, there is no private-key holder who can simply send it back. Recovery would only be possible if the contract has a suitable recovery mechanism or if its authorized maintainers can perform one through the contract. Otherwise, the tokens are likely permanently inaccessible.
Your best option is to contact the official stCELO maintainers and provide the transaction hash and intended receiving address. Please be cautious of anyone contacting you privately and claiming they can recover the funds. Never share your recovery phrase or private key.
