my name is Alex and I am the CoS at Self, a zk identity protocol in the Celo Ecosystem.
Self allows users to selectively share attributes from their ID documents (e.g. age, nationality) without exposing the full document. We don’t store your info or share it with third parties – all data stays locally on your device.
We’re looking for 2-3 testers per country to try see if our app works for your nationality (scanning the NFC chip in biometric documents).

What you’ll need & do:
• Have a biometric passport/ ID
• DM me to get started.
• Download the Self app (App Store / Play Store or self.xyz).
• Follow the instructions in the app and scan your biometric passport or ID with your phone.
• Scan the QR code at playground.self.xyz to confirm it works.
• Share quick feedback:
- Did it work?
- the phone OS
- Year of issuance of your passport/ID
- Screenshots of error or success messages (pls blur/cover personal data if needed).
