Creating Sustainable Funding For Celo Public Goods + The Celo Ecosystem
Glo Dollar (USDGLO) is a stablecoin designed to fund public goods. It is a US regulated, 100% fiat backed stablecoin.
We received a Prezenti Growth Grant to expand Glo Dollar and sustainable public goods funding within the Celo ecosystem. This grant has helped us grow our Glo Dollar Liquidity Flywheel For Celo Public Goods, while strengthening stablecoin diversity, resilience, and overall ecosystem growth. By fostering Glo Dollar adoption through protocol integrations, ecosystem partnerships, and community engagement, we have boosted TVL, increased transactions, and accelerated Celo’s development, while driving funding back into the ecosystem.

400k Transactions on Celo
As of Jan 30th 2025 we are at 775 791k transactions/transfers. Our Celo Public Goods flywheel has boosted liquidity and increased transactions, while multiple Glo Dollar paired liquidity pools continue to improve Celo’s trading efficiency. As well, with USDGLO as a donation payout token on Gitcoin and Giveth, and its growing integration into more dApps and protocols on Celo, we nearly doubled our transaction goal.
$1.5M in USDGLO Marketcap on Celo
Currently our MC on Celo sits at $1.7M USDGLO and we are continuing to put energy and effort behind growing this amount. The more Glo Dollar on Celo we have, the more we can scale the amount of donations we can make to Celo Public Goods on a monthly basis.
1000+ Glo Dollar Holders on Celo
Glo Dollar currently has 1118 holders on Celo. We are partnering with CeloPG through our Glo Dollar Liquidity Flywheel for Celo Public Goods to continue to scale this number, along with marketcap, TVL and transactions to ensure Glo Dollar not only grows, but is able to increase the amount of monthly funding it donates back into the Celo ecosystem.

Since October 2024, when Mento swapped $1M USDC into USDGLO and we kickstarted our Celo Flywheel, we’ve been able to donate $10,025.07 to Celo Public Goods, and projects within the Celo Ecosystem and this continues to grow each month.
We currently have a $1.7M Glo Dollar marketcap on Celo, by continuing to work with the Celo Foundation, Celo Public Goods, and the Celo builders community we will be able to scale not only our marketcap, increasing TVL on Celo, but generate more sustainable funding for the Celo ecosystem.
Glo Dollar was also used as a payout token for matching funds for the Gitcoin Regen-COORdination grant round and Regen Citizens Retro round, as well as Giveth’s GIV-Earth Round on Celo.If more grant rounds use Glo Dollar as their grant token, we can generate more funds for the Celo community. With every $1M marketcap increase of Glo Dollar on Celo, up to ~$40,000 a year will be added back into the Celo Ecosystem through our Celo Public Goods donations.

Our goal in 2025 is to double down on our commitment to the Celo community and its builders.
We hosted an X space with Celo Public Goods and Celo Builders.
We will also attend the next Kuneco Community Townhall and Build With Celo Builder Showcase throughout the year.
We will also share a little bit of alpha, we are about to announce a Glo Dollar mini series Podcast in partnership with Crypto Altruism called “AutoPGF:Funding Impact With Glo Dollar”. Celo Pubic Goods and Celo projects will be among the featured guests. We will be publicly announcing this soon. Sneak preview here.
Myself, Glo Dollars CEO and Co-Founder was #28 on the Celo Citizens Round and Lana, Superchain and Celo Growth at Glo Dollar was #70 out of 183. This signals to us that Celo Delegates and Celo Public Good community members see value in what Glo Dollar is building within the Celo ecosystem. This is a bullish signal for us and we are excited to put lots of time and effort into expanding Glo Dollar on Celo.
