Blockchain at Emory Vote Against CGP 183: Celo Kreiva DAO
We support artists and creative projects on-chain, but after reviewing CGP 183, we are voting against this proposal.
While well-intentioned, we believe the Celo Community Treasury should prioritize initiatives that directly advance the protocol’s growth and utility. This proposal feels more like general ecosystem marketing than a core infrastructure or DeFi investment.
Key concerns:
- Unclear why Celo is essential: The project doesn’t explain what makes Celo uniquely suited for this initiative.
- Another new DAO: Creating a separate DAO adds governance overhead and risks duplicating existing efforts like Celo Camp or Regional Hubs.
- No clear sustainability plan: There’s little clarity on long-term funding or how this DAO will generate lasting value for the protocol.
We’d be more supportive of a smaller pilot under an existing grant program before allocating major funding to a new standalone DAO.
