Hi @celogovernance I would like to add this topic to governance call #67 Add Glo Dollar as a gas token? - #2 by garm for discussion with the community

Please let me know if you need further info.

Hi @garm,

As highlighted by @Wade in the previous request, please create a proposal following the provided templates and guidelines. Once completed, you’ll be able to request a spot to present the proposal.

Hi @celogovernance - as I understand the linked document, the second post in the thread I linked should now have sufficient information for an initial temperature check discussion in the governance call. Is this mistaken?

Hi @garm :waving_hand: – thanks for sharing your proposal and engaging with the governance process!

You’re off to a strong start, and we appreciate your efforts. We will include your proposal in the agenda for the next Governance Call, but…

In order to align with the Celo Governance Proposal (CGP) structure and ensure a productive temperature check discussion in the upcoming governance call, please update your proposal to include the following standard sections:

:memo: Required Additions:

1. Summary / Current Status & Motivation
Provide a concise overview of your proposal, explaining:

  • How it contributes to the development of Celo
  • A high-level timeline
  • The key objectives to be achieved if approved

Please also mention:

  • Whether this initiative already exists
  • Any progress made so far or references to previous proposals
  • Why this proposal is important for Celo’s ecosystem, referencing relevant past initiatives or market context
  • A short description of the issue motivating the proposal, including all parameters being changed and why they matter

2. Specification
You’ve already included some of this information, which is great — please just consolidate it under a clearly marked “Specification” section. Include:

  • A detailed explanation of the proposal
  • Supporting data and resources
  • Specific implementation plans or relevant track record
  • Expected benefits and use cases this change will impact

3. Team or Multisign (Optional)
List the individuals or multisig involved, with short bios.
If not applicable, you can simply write “Not applicable.”

4. Risks
Outline any risks the proposal could introduce, especially in terms of:

  • Consensus
  • Proof-of-stake mechanics
  • Governance dynamics
  • Protocol economics
  • Security, privacy, or stability

5. Additional Support/Resources or Useful Links
Note any non-financial resources or support you may need from:

  • Celo Governance Guardians
  • cLabs
  • Celo Foundation

Also, include:

  • Any related CIPs or technical documents
  • Other helpful links or context (e.g., smart contract code or audits, if applicable)

Once you’ve made these updates, we’ll be happy to move forward with the temperature check in the next governance call.

Thanks again — looking forward to the revised version!
