GM Celo Community :yellow_heart:

We are Celo Colombia :yellow_circle: , a community initiative focused on growing Celo’s presence and impact in Colombia :colombia: through education, adoption, and local stablecoins :light_bulb:

By connecting $cCOP to real communities and real use cases, we aim to make Celo’s mission of prosperity for all a reality in Colombia :globe_showing_americas:

We’ve organized workshops, merchant activations, cashback programs and much more to help Colombians use cCOP in their everyday lives, creating trust and real-world adoption :shopping_bags::sparkles:

 Reason: Enables proper handling of native USDC and USDT, improving ecosystem efficiency and growth :globe_showing_europe_africa:

Proposal 255 - MGP-10: Restructuring the Mento Reserve — Yield on Mento Reserve & Mento Funding [Community Fund Proxy Vote]

 Reason: The restructuring strengthens Mento’s sustainability and transparency long-term :seedling:

Proposal 256 - Adding WETH as Gas Currency

:ballot_box: We voted: Yes :white_check_mark:
 **Reason:**Logical step that improves flexibility and makes transactions simpler for users :gear:

Proposal 257 - Contracts Release 14

:ballot_box: We voted: Yes :white_check_mark:

Proposal 258 - Mento Reserve Rebalancing

:ballot_box: We voted: Yes :white_check_mark:
 Reason: In favor of this rebalancing due to prior bugs.

Proposal 259 - Transfer CELO from Governance Reserve to Governance Proxy

:ballot_box: We voted: Yes :white_check_mark:
 Reason: Needed to ensure previously approved governance programs can be executed smoothly. This transfer only unlocks existing funds, not new spending.

Proposal 260 - Transfer CELO from Governance Reserve to Governance Proxy

:ballot_box: We voted: Yes :white_check_mark:
 Reason: This transfer enables the execution of previously approved governance commitments. It does not introduce new spending.

Proposal 261 - Setting WETH Oracle for Gas Pricing

:ballot_box: We voted: Yes :white_check_mark:
 Reason: Necessary to ensure accurate pricing now that WETH is supported as a gas currency.

Proposal 262 - Score Management Committee, 6 Month Extension and Funding

:ballot_box: We voted: Yes :white_check_mark:
 Reason: The committee has delivered consistent and measurable outcomes.

Proposal263 - Jello Hardfork Temperature Check (OP Succinct Lite and ZK Proofs)

:ballot_box: We voted: Yes :white_check_mark:
 Reason: The upgrade has been successfully tested on Celo Sepolia and introduces important protocol improvements.

Proposal 264 - Score Management Committee, 6 Month Extension and Funding

:ballot_box: We voted: Yes :white_check_mark:
 Reason: Same reasons listed in proposal 262.

Proposal 265 - Jello Hardfork Temperature Check (OP Succinct Lite and ZK Proofs)

:ballot_box: We voted: Yes :white_check_mark:
 Reason: Advances Celo’s core infrastructure using technology already validated in test environments.

Proposal 266 - Proxy Vote for MGP-12, Mento Stablecoins Rebranding

:ballot_box: We voted: Yes :white_check_mark:
 Reason: The proposal is clear, well structured, and aligned with the broader Mento roadmap.

Proposal 267 - Score Management Committee, 6 Month Extension and Funding

:ballot_box: We voted: Yes :white_check_mark:
 Reason: Same reasons listed in proposal 264.

Proposal 268 - Celo SHIELD Part B: Bug Bounty Settlement

:ballot_box: We voted: Yes :white_check_mark:
 Reason: This is a straightforward settlement for validated security work. The SHIELD program identified over 50 vulnerabilities and protected 13 ecosystem partners. Paying researchers what they’re owed ($22K) is essential to maintain trust in Celo’s security infrastructure.

Proposal 269 - Validator Spending Reduction: Option #1 Reduce the Set by Half

:ballot_box: We voted: No :x:
 Reason: We believe maintaining a broad validator set is important for network decentralization and resilience. Many operators have invested in long-term infrastructure to support the network, and we’d prefer to see a transition plan before reducing the set size.

Proposal 270 - Validator Spending Reduction: Option #2 Reduce Rewards by Half

:ballot_box: We voted: Abstain :person_shrugging:
 Reason: Of the three options, this was the most moderate approach. While we disagree with reducing validator compensation without a clear transition plan, we acknowledge the community’s concern about spending. Abstaining signals that we don’t actively block a middle-ground compromise, even though we’d prefer the status quo until a proper RPC incentive framework is designed.

Proposal 271 - Validator Spending Reduction: Option #3 Reduce Rewards to Zero

:ballot_box: We voted: No :x:
 Reason: We understand the community’s interest in optimizing spending, but moving directly to zero rewards without an alternative incentive model may make it difficult to retain experienced operators long-term. We would have preferred a phased approach that gives the community time to design a sustainable RPC incentive framework.

Proposal 272 - Celo Communities Guild: Season 2 Funding Request
:ballot_box: We voted: Yes :white_check_mark:
 Reason: Community moderation across Discord, Telegram, Reddit and X is essential work. The team has been active since 2021 providing 24/7 coverage.

Proposal 273 - Stabila Season 2 Funding Request

:ballot_box: We voted: Yes :white_check_mark:
 Reason: Stabila’s focused approach to DeFi liquidity concentrating capital on core DEX pairs, Aave, and Morpho directly supports TVL growth on Celo. Season 1 demonstrated that targeted incentives are more effective than spreading capital thin. The team’s conservative deployment approach (spending only 1/3 to 1/2 of budget to avoid market pressure) shows fiscal responsibility.

Proposal 274 - cLabs Core Protocol Execution: Season 2 (H1 2026) Funding Proposal

:ballot_box: We voted: Yes :white_check_mark:
 Reason: Core protocol development is non-negotiable. The Jovian hardfork, Espresso pre-confirmations, and Fusaka enablement are critical upgrades. Notably, cLabs cut their budget by ~50% compared to H2 2025, demonstrating cost discipline. The ReleaseGold vesting structure with community revocation rights provides appropriate accountability.

Proposal 275 - Celo Governance Guild: Season 2 Funding Request

:ballot_box: We voted: Yes :white_check_mark:
 Reason: Governance coordination is critical infrastructure. The Guild handles call scheduling, proposal lifecycle support, and repository maintenance. Without this neutral administrative layer, governance participation barriers increase for everyone. The budget is modest for the scope of work.

Proposal 276 - Celo Foundation Season 2 Funding Proposal

:ballot_box: We voted: Yes :white_check_mark:
 Reason: The Foundation’s operational budget supports builder growth, strategic partnerships, events, and regional expansion — all essential for ecosystem health. We support the continued investment in growing the Celo ecosystem globally.

Proposal 277 - Sustaining and Expanding MiniPay as Celo’s Global Stablecoin Distribution Layer

:ballot_box: We voted: Abstain
 Reason: We have repeatedly asked the MiniPay team to include COPm (Colombian peso stablecoin) and have only received rejections without clear rationale. We can’t vote Yes on expanding MiniPay funding while our local stablecoin remains excluded.

Proposal 278 - Prezenti Season 2 Funding Request - Direct Grants

:ballot_box: We voted: Yes :white_check_mark:
 Reason: Prezenti delivered a strong Season 1 with a 41% leaner Season 2 ask. While we abstained on Proposal 277 due to our cCOP concerns with the MiniPay team directly, we still support funding builders who reach our region through any available distribution channel.

Proposal 279 - Proxy Vote for MGP-14 - Mento V3 Deployment Phase 1

:ballot_box: We voted: Missed
 Reason: This one simply slipped past us during the referendum window.

Proposal 280 - Proxy Vote for MGP-15 - Mento Protocol Foundation Funding Request

:ballot_box: We voted: Missed
 Reason: This one simply slipped past us during the referendum window.

Proposal 281 - CICLOPS Season 2 Funding Request

:ballot_box: We voted: Yes :white_check_mark:
 Reason: As node operators ourselves, we directly benefit from CICLOPS’ work on chain lifecycle and post-L2-migration coordination. Their work deserves continued funding.

Proposal 282 - Celo Communities Guild Season 2 Funding Request

:ballot_box: We voted: Yes :white_check_mark:
 Reason: The Communities Guild supports regional Celo communities like ours, aligning directly with what CeloColombia is building in Latin America.

Proposal 283 - Increase Intrinsic Gas for USDT and USDC Fee Currencies

:ballot_box: We voted: Yes :white_check_mark:
 Reason: Sound technical fix that properly accounts for the actual computational cost of non-native fee currencies, without disrupting users.

Proposal 284 - Contracts Release 15

:ballot_box: We voted: Yes :white_check_mark:
 Reason: Routine contract upgrades are critical for protocol maintenance and security. We trust the cLabs review and audit pipeline behind these releases.

Proposal 285 - Celo’s Next Chapter: Opera Transition from Distribution Partner to Network Stakeholder

:ballot_box: We voted: Abstain
 Reason: Replacing USD grants with a long-term stakeholder is reasonable, but transferring 160M CELO (~16% of supply) without binding milestones or clear vesting is too much for a Yes. We won’t block it, but we need clearer accountability before fully endorsing it.

Proposal 286 - CELOccelerate: Celo Tokenomics Proposal (Temperature Check)

:ballot_box: We voted: Yes :white_check_mark:
 Reason: We support the coordinated package: routing sequencer revenue to the Community Fund, pausing the over-funded Carbon Fund (25x surplus), and gradually adjusting base fees post-Jovian. We acknowledge the forum debate on burn-vs-reinvest, but see this as a sensible first step toward sustainable L2 tokenomics.

Proposal 287 - Burn 1,748,950 CELO Returned to the Community Fund

:ballot_box: We voted: Yes :white_check_mark:
 Reason: Concrete execution of the retroactive burn from CGP-233. We’re aware of the forum debate proposing staking rewards or grants instead, but voted Yes for consistency with our position on 286 and because permanently reducing supply benefits all CELO holders.
