Dear Celo Community,
Today, May 26, 2026, the OP-Succinct Lite implementation on Celo Mainnet was upgraded to use the new SP1 Hypercube zkVM from Succinct.
SP1 Hypercube introduces a next-generation proving architecture built around multilinear polynomial-based cryptography, designed to significantly improve proving performance and efficiency. The upgrade delivers state-of-the-art improvements in proof latency and cost, while further advancing the scalability and performance of OP-Succinct on Celo.
With this upgrade, proof generation time is expected to decrease by more than 75%, enabling faster and more efficient zk proof generation on Celo. Additionally, proof generation costs are expected to decrease by more than 60%, further improving the performance and cost efficiency of Celo’s zk fault proof infrastructure.
This marks another step forward in Celo’s continued adoption of Ethereum-aligned scalability technologies through the OP Stack and OP-Succinct.
