Karma project funding and accountability platform updates

gm, I’m Mahesh Murthy, founder of Karma. We are an all-in-one funding platform, a support network for builders, and a protocol for tracking accountability and measuring impact on-chain. We have been collaborating with various groups (Celo DevRel, Celo Public Goods, Prezenti, and communities who run their funding programs on Celo) over the last 15 months.

You can find the Celo community page showcasing all the funding programs and projects that have leveraged Karma’s platform here: Karma GAP - Celo community grants

The Celo Public Goods page is here: Karma GAP - Celo Public Goods community grants

We’ll be posting regular updates on this forum to keep the Celo community informed about our work and to share platform usage statistics from the broader Celo community.

Recent Feature Updates

  1. Funding platform now available! Any Celo community can use our funding platform to run their program end to end. They can accept applications, review them with the help of AI, track milestones, and disburse funds. The Localism Fund community, which is deployed on Karma’s protocol on the Celo network, is using it for their new round: Localism Fund's Funding Platform

  2. Impact measurement enhancements: Karma allows grantees and participants to submit their GitHub and contract addresses. We used to display onchain transactions and GitHub metrics. We have now also built metrics around user activity (unique users, daily users), so you can see how many unique users a project is bringing into the Celo ecosystem across different timeframes. Example: https://gap.karmahq.xyz/project/sov-seas/impact

  3. New API endpoints and exports: All metrics and project data can now be exported and are also exposed through our APIs. Many partners, such as Talent Protocol, consume this data for various use cases.

  4. Celo Faucet: Karma is an on-chain protocol and application. Users have to pay gas to create their project, add milestones, and post updates. We have now made it easy for anyone with just a wallet to get started without having any CELO to pay for gas. We will fund your wallet to get you started.

  5. Published case study We published a case study on how the Celo DevRel team has been effectively using Karma to run their monthly Proof of Ship program: https://paragraph.com/@karmahq/scaling-ecosystem-success-with-karma

  6. Import custom metrics We now have a way for any approved data provider to submit data points to our platform so all the impact metrics can be evaluated and visualized in one place. Example: Celo PG now submits gas usage and unique wallet data, which you can see here: https://gap.karmahq.xyz/project/gooddollar/impact
