I’m Anzus from Gem Wallet, working across BD, community, and user support.
Gem Wallet is an open-source, self-custodial mobile wallet. We added support for Celo because of its focus on fast, low-cost payments, stable assets, and real-world financial access.
Celo features available in Gem Wallet
Users can currently:
- Store CELO securely in a self-custodial wallet
- Send and receive CELO and supported Celo tokens
- Buy CELO through available providers
- Swap CELO and supported Celo ERC-20 tokens directly in the app
- Swap supported assets from other blockchains into CELO through cross-chain swaps
- View Celo addresses and transactions through Blockscout
CELO staking is not currently supported, and I want to be transparent about that.
I created this thread to collect Celo-specific feedback and act as a bridge between the community and our developers. We would especially appreciate feedback about:
- Sending and receiving Celo assets
- Celo token discovery and visibility
- Swap availability, routes, and pricing
- Cross-chain swaps into CELO
- Other Celo features the community considers important
If you try Gem Wallet, please share what worked, what felt confusing, and what you would like us to improve.
For support cases, never post or send your secret recovery phrase or private key. A public wallet address, transaction hash, and description of the issue are normally sufficient for investigating onchain activity.
