I don’t think TVL matters too much when choosing which tech to be based on. The tech itself does and how easy is to extend it, modify it to build the kind of system you want.
On tech i think they’re roughly at par; with some differences. But then OP has made a great work modularizing their tech and make it open source and available for anyone to use. The OP stack is very well documented and it makes it easy for you to reason about the system and how to extend it.
